I first stumbled upon Antidote chocolate bars at South Square Market while it was still family owned (sob!). These bars were so unbelievably good and barely in stock that my husband would come home clutching one - like a HERO - whenever he found one in stock. Eventually this dream ended, and I’ve been searching - in vain - for an Antidote chocolate source since.

Becoming the Antidote chocolate source may or may not have been one of the reasons for starting a chocolate shop, haha.

Antidote Chocolate is woman-owned, and lower in sugar than most other chocolate. It’s also some of the best tasting dark chocolate I’ve ever had.

Rose Salt + Lemon Peel - My OG favorite. This is the bar my husband and I would go hunting for. Made from 77% chocolate perfection.

Mango + Juniper - Gin lovers, this is for you. 73% and tastes sweeter than that (thanks to the bright bits of mango) but really complex, thanks to the juniper.

Lemon + Licorice - 84% dark, with seriously addictive bits of chewy lemon peel. Can’t stop won’t stop.

Antidote Chocolate

Antidote Chocolate was founded in 2009 by Red Thalhammer, a former New York brand designer who grew up in her parents' restaurant in Austria. Each bar is crafted from rare, single-origin Nacional cacao from Ecuador, sourced direct-trade and slow-roasted to let its floral, complex flavor come through. The result is small-batch craft chocolate with unexpected, award-winning pairings (think mango and juniper, or rose salt and lemon).
