This stunning set can be a Montessori-style activity for littles…or it’s basically a really aesthetic version of Connect 4. Either way, it’s a fun one to leave out on the coffee table.
How To Play (Easy Version):
One player takes the cubes and the other takes the balls (ignoring color!). Players take turns sliding one piece onto any peg, where it drops down to sit on top of whatever's already there. The goal is to be first to line up four of your shape in a row, whether side by side across the pegs, stacked up on one peg, or on a diagonal. If every peg fills up before anyone gets four in a row, the game is a draw.
How To Play (Trickier Version):
Put all the pieces in one shared pile so either player can use any piece! Players take turns sliding a any piece onto any peg, and the first person to complete a line of four pieces of the same color, across, up or diagonally, wins, no matter who placed the other three. That makes every move a little risky, since a piece that sets you up might also set up your opponent. For an even harder game, a winning line has to match in both color and shape.
