Calicutts is a small-batch, woman-owned spice company out of Mechanicsburg, PA that sources, grinds, and hand-mixes their blends with real ingredients - no fillers, no anti-caking agents, just spices. And we LOVE their spice blends. So much so that we spent the better portion of an hour debating which four to include in this custom set. In the end, we pulled together what we believe to be the BEST set of spices for backyard bbqs this summer, whether your backyard BBQ style is burgers on the grill, fish from the bay, ranch-everything on the picnic table, or low-and-slow ribs that take all afternoon.

Here's what's in the set:

Backyard Spice Blend - A classic pepper blend with a little hickory smoke to bring out the grill flavor, finished with fresh parsley. We especially love it for burgers, but can also be used on grilled veggies (or other meats).

Chesapeake Spice Blend - A traditional seafood spice with hints of lemon and cocktail sauce layered in. Perfect on crab cakes, steamed shrimp, white fish ( and don't sleep on it for a Bloody Mary rim).

Ranch - All the flavors of ranch (chives, garlic, onion) without the dairy!! Try it on potato salad or stirred into chicken noodle soup.

Sweet & Smokey BBQ - Honey and maple sugar balanced with rosemary, smoked paprika, and ancho chile. The one you want for pulled pork, baked beans, and smoked ribs.

Backyard Spice Blend: Onion Powder, White Peppercorn, Green Peppercorn, Smoked Hungarian Paprika, Hickory Salt, Sugar, Black Peppercorn, Roasted Red Bell Pepper, Roasted Green Bell Pepper, and Parsley.

Chesapeake Spice Blend: Sun Dried Tomatoes, Celery Seed, Sweet Paprika, Mustard, Lemon Peel, Black Peppercorn, White Peppercorn, Dill Weed, Sea Salt, Cayenne Chile, Garlic, Vinegar, Smoked Paprika, Cardamom, Coriander, Thyme, Red Pepper Flake, Dill Seed, Korintje Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Allspice, Ginger, Clove, and Bay Leaf

Ranch: Handcrafted from Garlic, Onion, Sugar, Sea Salt, Sweet Paprika, Parsley, Dill, Minced Onion, Chives, and Black Peppercorn.

Sweet & Smokey BBQ: Honey Granules. Maple Sugar, Sea Salt, Smoked Paprika, Sweet Paprika, Ancho Chile, Onion, Rosemary, and Mustard.

All Spice Blends Are Preservative-Free and Gluten-Free

Spices are best within 12-18 months of opening, but they'll still be flavorful beyond that—they just mellow over time. Store in a cool, dry place to maximize their life.
