Venetian red was often featured in Italian Renaissance paintings. Imagine, if you will, a quiet winter evening in. The fire is crackling, a glass of wine in your hand. The interplay of light and dark dances across your canvas (obviously, you paint) and the stark white pearls of the portrait draw the eye in. This necklace - deep winter-red glass beads hand-strung on a natural silk cord, finished with two freshwater baroque pearls - give the illusion of a Vermeer painting brought to life.
For a bit of old world romance, this necklace looks incredible looped around twice or casually knotted with everything from silky tops to graphic tees.
