This one's a little more understated than our Antique Scarab Necklace. Kat of Stone Cooper (our secret weapon for vintage jewelry) took these smaller mid-century scarab pieces and worked them onto a delicate, gold-filled vintage chain.

Each scarab stone is 100% genuine (not resin or glass!) with carved scarab protection symbols on the back (you can flip the necklace over to see the symbols carved into each stone). Stones could include Unakite, Bloodstone, Tiger’s Eye, Jasper, Chalcedony, Onyx, Rhodolite, Carnelian and, in some special cases, Clear Quartz (rare!!).

Fun fact: Scarabs happen to be one of the oldest symbols in jewelry - dating back to 1550 BC! The scarab symbol was said to represent creation, renewal, and protection. In the 1940s–60s, designers took this ancient motif and ran with it, which resulted in the scarab bracelets that make up these necklaces.

Notes

Each transformed necklace is handmade by Kat of Stone Cooper from authentic vintage Art Deco (1920s) and Egyptian Revival pieces (1970s).
