Time to Draw Deck - 45 prompt cards by artist Alyssa Annette Block, color-coded into Skills, Focus and Fun, each with a suggested time. The exercises borrow from art-school assignments, meditation practices and the things working artists do to stay loose. Good for someone just starting to get into the habit of drawing (aka absolute beginners) or for experience artists needing a little inspo.
Benson’s Colour Hexagon Sketchbook - Hardback, spiral-bound (but at the top so left-handers don’t get screwed) with a ribbon tie. This notebook has 48 pages of 180gsm mixed-media paper for pencil, ink and even watercolor. The cover is really cool, too - it’s adapted from William Benson’s 1868 color diagram. 6.3" x 9.2".
Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens, black wallet of 4 - Superfine (0.3mm), fine (0.5mm), medium (0.7mm) and a flexible brush nib. Pigmented India ink that’s waterproof, lightfast, acid-free and odorless, and doesn’t bleed through. These are the pens illustrators reach for.
