These are Italian orange segments that have been expertly candied (not too sweet!), then fully covered in Colombian dark chocolate. The Italian oranges have fragrant peels high in essential oils, so these candied orange slices taste nice and bright, with a bitter-orange depth of flavor, rather than just sweet. They’re really sophisticated and delicious. 

That said, my kids are not a fan. :) 

My mother and I, however? We go CRAZY for these. I’ve found they’re especially amazing after dinner with a little aperitif, tea or coffee.
