Inspired by history, this hand-wrought pewter matchbox is based on Revolutionary War-era designs, and results in a keepsake that is as practical as it is beautiful. For the revolutionary in all of us, this matchbox is etched with ‘Spark a REVOLUTION’ on the front, and opens to a really timely reminder: No More Kings.

This matchbox is made by hand by Beehive Handmade in their studio in Rhode Island, comes with a bundle of 100 strike-anywhere matches, and has a striker plate on the side of the box.

Hinged pewter matchbox with engraved detailing, striker plate on the side, and 100 strike-anywhere matches.

Cast and finished by hand from fine pewter (an alimony of tin, antimony and copper - contemporary pewter contains no lead and is safe for everyday use.)

This piece belongs to Beehive Handmade's series of pewter housewares honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States, inspired by utilitarian objects of America.
